Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange

June 6, 2012 (TORONTO) – TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for May 2012.

Toronto Stock Exchange listed 10 new issuers in May 2012, down from April 2012 when there were 16 and down from May 2011 when there were 15 new issuers. Of the new listings, 2 were ETFs*, 4 were structured products and 3 were from the mining sector. There were 4 graduates to Toronto Stock Exchange, which was up from 3 the previous month and was on pace with May 2011 when there were also 4 graduates. Total financings raised were up 34% compared to the previous month and were up 2% from the same month a year earlier. The total number of financings in May 2012 was 44, compared to 55 in April 2012 and 58 in May 2011.

TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 20 new issuers in May 2012, which was ahead of both April 2012 and May 2011, when there were 15 and 17 issuers listed respectively. The new issuers included 8 mining companies. Total financings raised fell 31% from April 2012 and were down 77% compared to the same month a year earlier. The total number of financings during May 2012 was 158, which is up from 138 in April 2012 and down from 210 in May 2011.
