TSX Ignite Continues U.S. Series in Minneapolis

June 17, 2015

Last week in Minneapolis, MN, Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) hosted a complimentary, half-day TSX Ignite event highlighting the benefits of listing and raising growth capital on Canada's leading equities markets for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The event featured a keynote address from Tony Stelliga, CEO of Spectra7 Microsystems Ltd. (SEV), a TSXV-listed company headquartered in Palo Alto, CA. In his keynote, Mr. Stelliga provided insight into why he took his U.S.-based company public in Canada and looked north to raise growth capital. The half-day event opened up with welcome remarks by Nicki Vincent, Executive Director of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Minnesota Chapter. The event also included panel sessions featuring representatives from leading investment banks, accounting firms and legal advisors to provide an overall understanding of how Canada's equities markets can be effective capital formation platforms for U.S. businesses in the early stages of their development.

On the heels of last year's inaugural seven-city Canadian series, the 2015 TSX Ignite events spotlight TSX and TSXV's globally-recognized expertise in supporting the development of SMEs by providing well-regulated capital raising venues for companies from the U.S. and elsewhere around the world. More than 130 U.S.-based companies are listed on the Exchanges – more than any exchange group outside the U.S. – and over $7 billion has been raised by U.S. companies on TSX and TSXV since the start of 2012.
